【Korean Coaching】Don’t Give Up on Korean — Her 2-Month Breakthrough Story

안녕하세요!! 토미입니다!

This time, I have invited Sakshi, one of my “Fast Korean” course students!

I will briefly introduce Sakshi.

She is from India, and currently living in South Korea.

And she is 26 years old.

To summarize her achievements: Sakshi proudly passed TOPIK Level 4 in just 2 months.

When I first met her on July 10th, she took a TOPIK mock test.

At that time, her scores were Listening 94, Reading 79, for a total of 173 points.

However, on the actual TOPIK Ⅱ mock test on September 30th, she scored Listening 52, Reading 62, for a total of 114 points, successfully achieving TOPIK Level 3 !

Congratulations! 🎉

Now let’s hear in detail how Sakshi achieved these results!

그럼 시작할게요!

※From this point on, it will be Sakshi’s remarks.

The reason why I started taking the Fast Korean course

What made you decide to learn Korean?

I decided to learn Korean because I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Chemistry at Jeju National University.

Since my major and research are related to skincare and breast cancer medicine, it is very important for me to communicate effectively in Korean.

I also plan to continue living in Korea in the future, so learning the language is essential for my academic and professional goals.

Before taking my Fast Korean course, what was your Korean level?

Before taking the course, I had already attempted the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) once but unfortunately did not pass.

I scored 119 points.

My level was at elementary level, and I often struggled with reading speed, vocabulary, and time management during the exam.

What struggles did you have? How were you studying at the time?

I didn’t have a proper study schedule, so I couldn’t study consistently every day.

Because of my lab work and classes as a master’s student, it was difficult to balance Korean learning with my other responsibilities.

I also found it hard to stay focused and didn’t have a structured plan to improve my skills.

Why did you decide to take the course?

I decided to take this course because it is well-organized and starts at the elementary level, which helped me build a strong foundation.

I was already watching Tammy Korean on YouTube and liked her teaching style.

Another reason was the vast vocabulary list provided in the course, which would have been difficult for me to collect on my own.

After enrolling, how many months did it take to see results, and what kind of results did you achieve?

I started to see clear results after one month.

I completed the elementary course during that time, which helped me understand TOPIK questions better.

My reading speed improved a lot, allowing me to finish practice papers within the actual test exam time.

I also memorized around 4,000 vocabulary words, which helped me understand my Korean labmates better and communicate with them confidently in daily life.

What made the difference in your progress, and what aspects of my coaching service did you find most helpful? (Insights)

The daily structured schedule and the motivational LINE messages I received every morning at 7 AM made a big difference in my progress.

The course design helped me manage my time well even with my hectic lab schedule.

The clear explanation of vocabulary and grammar was also extremely helpful for my fast improvement.

If you hadn’t taken the Fast Korean Coaching course, what do you think you would be doing now?

If I hadn’t taken the course, I would have continued to struggle with time management and consistent studying.

It would have been difficult to maintain consistent progress in Korean while managing my lab work and classes.

Your future plans for learning Korean and your ultimate goal

My future plan is to continue studying Korean every day and aim to achieve TOPIK Level 6.

My ultimate goal is to become a fluent Korean speaker so I can communicate confidently in both academic and professional settings, conduct research, and build a successful future in Korea.

Message to the viewers

Learning Korean may seem hard at first, but with the right guidance and daily practice, you can achieve your goal.

In the beginning, the process was difficult, but I fully trusted my teacher’s guidance completely.

After just one month, I started to see real progress.

So don’t give up — keep working hard. Your future self will thank you!
