How to prepare answers and how to use the manuscript paper

This format assesses the ability to structure a story.

It is helpful to read advertisements, guides, etc. that are commonly associated with everyday life and understand how they are structured and what expressions and grammar are used.

✔How to Prepare Answers

❍ It is important to grasp what is going on before and after the conversation when preparing an answer.

The sentences before and after ㉠ and ㉡ should be read carefully so that the content follows naturally.

❍In the case of ㉠, you will receive 5 points if you answer as ‘집들이를 할까 합니다.’, “I think I will hold a housewarming party” or ‘집들이를 할 생각입니다.’ “I’m thinking of holding a housewarming party”, which includes the vocabulary “집들이를 하다” “to hold a housewarming party” and grammar such as “(으)ㄹ 까 하다 “I think I will” or “할 생각입니다” “I am thinking of ~”.

In the case of ㉡, you will receive 5 points if you answer in this way: ‘○월 ○일○시에 와 주시겠습니까?’“Will you come at 00:00 on the DD of MM?” or ‘○월 ○일 ○시에 시간이 괜찮으신지요?’“Will you be available at 00:00 on the MM of DD?” You can use vocabulary such as ‘○월 ○일 ○시’에 ‘오다’,“come at 00:00 on the DD of MM?”, “how”, and “available”, and the grammar such as ‘-(으)시겠습니까?’, ‘-(으)신지요?’ “will you~?” which is contextually appropriate.

❍ Points will be deducted for using vocabulary and grammar that is not appropriate for the context of the conversation.

❍ Points will be deducted if unnecessary content is added that detracts from the original meaning.

❍Points will be deducted if spelling is not correct or if the formality and case of the sentence is not correct.

❍Be careful not to include words before or after ( ) in your answer.

❍ Be careful not to write more than one sentence in the answer.

This format is a question that assesses story structure skills. It is helpful to read a variety of sentences and understand how to develop content, how to connect sentences to sentences, and what conjunctions to use.

In the case of ㉡, you will receive 5 points if you answer like ‘아이들에게 칭찬을 자주 하는 것이 좋다.’‘“it is good to praise children well”, using the expression ‘아이들에게 칭찬을 자주 하다’“to praise children well” and the grammar ‘-(으)ㄴ/
는 것이 좋다’ “it is good to do” which is appropriate for the context.

❍ Points will be deducted if you answer using expressions or grammar that are not appropriate for the context of the conversation.

❍ Points will be deducted if unnecessary content is added that detracts from the original meaning.

❍ Points will be deducted if spelling is not correct or if the formality and case of the sentence is not correct.

❍Be careful not to include the words before and after ( ) in your answer.

※ [53] 다음을 참고하여 ‘인터넷의 장단점’에 대한 글을 200~300자로 쓰십시오. 단, 글의 제목을 쓰지 마십시오. (30점)

It is helpful to practice comparing, analyzing, and writing about the information given by various charts and diagrams.

✔ How to Prepare Answers

❍ It must be able to carry out all the tasks required by the question and express them in a rich and varied way in terms of content.

It must include all of the “pros and cons of the Internet,” and “how we should use the Internet well,” and must fully describe the relevant content.

❍Sentences must be developed in a coherent manner and must have an introduction-development-summary structure of no more than 200-300 words.

❍ You must accurately understand, interpret, and describe the given material.

In addition, your conclusions must be based on the material. Please be careful not to arbitrarily interpret the material or to write personal assertions that have nothing to do with the material.

❍ It is better to compose sentences with intermediate or higher vocabulary and grammar, and to use the language in a various and abundant way.

❍You must write in accordance with the formality of the sentence. Points will be deducted if you use colloquialisms or use ‘-ㅂ/습니다, -아/어요’ in the closing form.

❍ Do not itemize sentences.

This format is designed to assess your ability to write sentences that logically express your ideas in accordance with the themes and tasks presented.

It is recommended that you practice organizing your thoughts and arguments on themes with social content, and then organizing them logically to complete them in writing.

✔How to Prepare Answers

❍ It must be able to carry out all the tasks required by the question and express them in a rich and varied way in terms of content.

It must include all descriptions of the relevant content: “problems arising from environmental pollution,” “efforts to reduce environmental pollution,” and “practices.”

❍ The sentences must be developed in a logical manner and must have an introduction-expansion-summary structure.

It is also a good idea to change paragraphs when the content is converted.

❍ You must use a variety and abundance of language, composing sentences with intermediate and high level vocabulary and grammar.

If you write the same content using a higher level of vocabulary, you will receive a higher score in the “Use of Language” category.

❍ You must write in accordance with the formality of the sentence. Points will be deducted if you use colloquialisms or use ‘-ㅂ/습니다, -아/어요’ in the closing form.

❍ Do not itemize sentences.

How to Use Manuscript Paper

1. Write one letter per square of manuscript paper.

2.When starting a sentence and changing paragraphs for the first time, leave the first square of the line empty and write from the second square.

3.Within the first paragraph, do not leave a square empty except at the beginning of a line. If there is no empty square at the end of a line, the first square of the next line is written without separating the lines. (It does not matter whether or not there is a “v” sign indicating separate writing.)

4.Write two Arabic numerals per square.

5.In principle, one symbol should be written in each square. However, dashes (ー) and abbreviations (……) should be written in two squares.

6. Question mark (?) and exclamation mark (!) are followed by an empty square. However, a space is not required after a closing mark (.), a comma (,), or a colon (:).

7. If a letter occupies the last square and there is no square for a symbol, the symbol is written with the letter in the last square.
