【Korean Coaching】Can You Learn Korean From Zero? Her TOPIK Success Story

안녕하세요!! 토미입니다!

This time, I have invited Angika, one of my “Fast Korean” course students!

I will briefly introduce Angika. She is from India, and currently living in Busan, South Korea.

And she is 30 years old.

To summarize her achievements: Angika proudly passed a TOPIK Level 2 mock test in just 3 months.

When I first met her on July 13th, she took a TOPIK Ⅰ mock test.

At that time, her scores were Listening 48, Reading 61, for a total of 109 points.

However, on the actual TOPIK Ⅰ mock test on October 16th, she scored Listening 87, Reading 78, for a total of 165 points, successfully achieving TOPIK Level 2!

Congratulations! 🎉

Now let’s hear in detail how Angika achieved these results!

그럼 시작할게요!

※From this point on, it will be Angika’s remarks.

Self-introduction

I am from India, but currently I am residing in Busan, South Korea.

I received the Global Korea Scholarship in 2025 as a master’s student in Computer Science specializing in Artificial Intelligence.

The reason why I started taking the Fast Korean course

What made you decide to learn Korean?

As a Global Korea Scholarship recipient, I have to study the Korean language as a part of my curriculum for one year. Right now, I am enrolled in Busan National University Language Education Institute.

To enter my master’s program next year, I need to achieve TOPIK II Level 3. Also, knowing the language of the country where I am living makes life very convenient.

Before taking my Fast Korean course, what was your Korean level?

I only knew vowels and consonants.

I can definitely say that I knew nothing before the Fast Korean course.

So, it’s very safe to say that Level 0 is the best way to describe it..

What struggles did you have? How were you studying at the time?

I wanted to study Korean so I started with YouTube.

I actually went through many videos, they all seemed equally good and important.

The most important thing that was lacking was structure, a proper flowchart to follow.

And I was also not able to figure out a clear syllabus for what I should study such as vocabulary lists and grammar explanations.

Why did you decide to take the course?

I initially used to follow Tammy’s content but was not consistent with my study.

But then when I got this opportunity to join the course and learn directly from the teacher I follow on YouTube, it looked very promising and I couldn’t resist joining.

As her videos were so methodical I was pretty sure as a direct teacher she would help me pass TOPIK level 2.

After enrolling, how many months did it take to see results, and what kind of results did you achieve?

I started seeing results in about 2 weeks.

I memorized more than 500 words while reviewing them regularly, which I couldn’t have imagined doing without her.

What made the difference in your progress, and what aspects of my coaching service did you find most helpful?

To begin with, I fell in love with the vocabulary list that is actually available for free on Tammy’s website.

Now in terms of the coaching services – I honestly appreciate how Tammy strategically first focused on vocabulary, and gradually moved on to grammar and in each step she kept revising the previous words.

If you hadn’t taken the Fast Korean Coaching course, what do you think you would be doing now?

As I am currently enrolled in the Busan National University Language Institute, probably I would have just continued with that, but Fast Korean has helped me also excel in my language program as well.

Your future plans for learning Korean and your ultimate goal

As I already said I have to achieve TOPIK II Level 3 for my masters program.

So, right now I am going to start my study for Level 4 as I want to aim a little higher.

Message to the viewers

I am truly grateful for how she strategically developed the entire study plan as well as guided me through everything and I never thought I would be able to take my TOPIK I exam in October after starting the course at the end of July.

So, I would really like to say to all the people who want to study the Korean language, please give her materials a try and if possible join her classes.

You won’t never regret it.
